Survey of articulatory and acoustic aspects of speech communication
as they are used to classify speech and sound types in languages of
the world. Introduction to articulatory and acoustic phonetics with
concurrent laboratory sections. Labs focus on preceiving,
transcribing, and producing the sounds of the world's languages, as
well as acoustic analysis of speech and performing experiments on
speech production and perception.
