The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the work being
done by faculty in our department (and the faculty themselves) and
to give you some idea of the intellectual journey that they took in
finding their areas of interest.  Because my goal is for you to meet
and learn about the work of as many faculty as possible, faculty
speakers will generally not be people who are teaching graduate
courses this semester.
