P: S251.  Examination of policies, structures, and programs of service
delivery systems at local, regional, and national levels with emphasis
on relations among such systems as formal organizations. Students
acquire knowledge of the policy development process, which helps them
establish a beginning capacity for policy analysis and practice. This
course is designed to develop policy analysis skills so that students
will be able to identify gaps in the service delivery system and
inequitable or oppressive aspects of current policy delivery. The
course also develops beginning policy practice skills so that students
will know how to work toward social change congruent with social work
ethics and the profession’s commitment to social and economic justice.
