BUS G309 China's Economy in Transition (3 cr.) This course studies China's continuing
transition from a socialist economy to one of the world's largest and most dynamic
market economies.  We cover the historical roots of China's market economy and the
particular features of the communist period.  Most of the course concentrates on
current challenges of economic reform and development.  Study of China's policies
and institutions will provide students with insight into fundamental economic issues
and also offer students a practical understanding of the Chinese economy and its
prospects.
