In this course, we will look at the representation of Jews and
African-Americans on the musical theater stage. Focusing on major
works such as Shuffle Along, The Wiz, Fiddler on the Roof and The
Producers, we will explore what it means for each group to represent
itself and to be represented through the conventions of musical
theater.
