This course surveys selected issues revolving around word meaning
through the investigation of verb semantics.  Topics to be discussed
include, but are not limited to, various approaches to representing
verb meaning, polysemy, telicity, the interaction between verb
semantics and syntax, and the acquisition of verb meaning.  The
course requirements include class discussion, student presentations,
possible homework assignments, and a term paper.
