This course will provide an orientation to implantable auditory
prostheses for children and adults.  Topics will include basics of
electrical hearing, device components, history of implantable
devices, signal processing, candidacy issues, surgical procedures,
biophysics and physiology as applied to electrical hearing,
electrophysiological measures, programming, speech, language, and
cognitive outcomes in children and adults, and rehabilitation issues.
