West European Studies | Readings In Modern Greek Writers
E250 | 10808 | Hess, F.

11:15A-12:05P MTR 3 cr.

This course builds on the first three semesters of the Modern Greek
sequence, refining student understanding of spoken and written
Greek. Time in the classroom is divided between textbook-based
activities and a shared classroom activity, “The Popular Culture
Project,” in which students research different aspects of Greek
popular culture (slang, popular music, film, television, shadow
theater, etc.) and develop presentations for their classmates. As
in previous semesters, students will be expected to participate in
classroom conversation activities and complete regular written
assignments. Progress will be evaluated through weekly quizzes as
well as a midterm and final exam. This course will be taught
entirely in Greek.
