L210 | 29014 | Adu-Amankwah, David

This course, in the broad context of Africa South of the Sahara,
introduces the student to that part of Akan traditional life which
concerns itself with popular elements of oral art and the basic
effects these elements have on the culture. At the end of the course
students will have a clear intellectual understanding of the popular
tools used in African verbal artistry and the basic effects these
elements have on the cultures within which they operate, with Akan
as our prime example.
