CLAS-C 421 Topography and Monuments of Ancient Rome
Section 26810 / Franklin

P: One of C102, C206, or FINA A206. What were the major buildings of
ancient Rome, how did they develop, and how did they look? What did
the Romans have to say about them? What remains today? All these
questions will be answered in this course on the development of the
ancient city. In fact, by the end of the course students will be able
to “walk” through the ancient city both in their minds and on the
ground when they finally reach the caput mundi. The format of the
course will be largely lecture presentations, based on slides of the
city and its remains. (A&H)
