Section 5901 / Goh

P: G200 or equivalent. Introduction to the epic language and meter of
Homer. We will read selections of the Odyssey in the original Greek,
paying close attention to Homeric vocabulary, morphology, syntax, as
well as the techniques and themes of epic poetry. Students are
expected to read the entire Odyssey in English.
