Introduction to the language of business activities in France and to
the structure and functioning of various aspects of contemporary
French economic life. Awareness of the general cultural context
within which business activities take place in France will also be an
important dimension of the course. Weekly exercises will include oral
activities (class discussions and debates, role playing, etc.) as
well as reading and writing (translation, letter writing, reading of
articles from French newspapers and magazines on current economic
issues, etc...). Course taught in French. No previous knowledge of
the world of French business is required. Useful for students
preparing for the proficiency examinations of the Chambre de Commerce
de Paris. Prerequisite is FRIT F250 or equivalent; fulfills S & H
requirement.
