French and Italian | Masterpieces of Italian Literature 2

The focus of this course is the literature of Modern Italy from the
17th to the 20th century. The course is designed to achieve a reading
competency of representative works of modern Italian literature
through careful readings of selected passages. Marino, Goldoni,
Leopardi, Manzoni, Collodi, Pirandello, Buzzati and Calvino will be
among the authors considered. The course will also include a section
about Italian graphic novels. Students will write short essays during
the term, participate in an oral presentation, and take a final exam.
The class will be conducted in Italian.
