"This course surveys the role of disturbed neural mechanisms on the
development of psychological disorders such as autism and
schizophrenia. The relationship of neural disturbances to genetic
variations, and to cognitive and affective abnormalities, will also
be addressed. Methods for investigating mechanisms and evaluating
treatments will be critically evaluated. Prerequisites: P326
(Behavioral Neuroscience) or P346 (Neuroscience) are required before
enrolling, or equivalent. This course counts as an advanced
neuroscience course for the Neuroscience Major as well as toward a
BA or BS in Psychological and Brain Sciences."
