P448 | 10585 | Thompson, S.

This seminar-format course will examine how we perceive other people
as individuals and members of groups, and the processes involved in
our making judgments of those people. Included in our discussions
will be topics such as attributions we make about others’ behavior,
errors and biases in those attributions, schemas, person memory,
social categorization of people, stereotyping, and the relationship
between affect and social cognition. We will conclude with
discussions of social cognition as it relates to politics, the legal
system, political decisions, religion, and intimate relationships.
