R452 | 26646 | H. Blair

The above course carries AH & CSA distribution. Meets the Eastern
Religious Traditions in the major and minor.

Mountains have been and remain important sites for religious
practices in Asian religions, but they are also often objects of
reverence and devotion in their own right.

This discussion-intensive seminar examines the roles mountains
play in religious thought and practice, as well as in the academic
discipline of religious studies. Course materials draw from a
variety of genres, and include films, ethnographies, and pre-modern
literature.
