Second Language Studies | Speaking Fluency Development
T101 | 29697 | --
This course is designed to familiarize non-native speakers of
English with the basic components of fluency that include speech
rate, pause times, and the quality and quantity of connected speech
between pauses. After listening to and analyzing the spontaneous
speech patterns of native-speakers, learners will attend to the
spontaneous speech of their classmates and themselves by engaging in
communicative exercises in the context of a university setting.
Credit hours, though counting toward full-time student status, do
not count toward the completion of a degree.
