E 340 Environmental Economics and Finance (3 cr.)

This course familiarizes students with the principles of
environmental economics, finance, and cost-benefit analysis. The
incentive effects of environmental policy design are assessed.
Policy instruments include tradeable permits, emissions taxes,
deposit-refund systems, pollution-prevention programs, and voluntary
agreements. Project appraisal techniques are then developed and
applied to specific case evaluations.
