Title: Telecommunications Internship

T497 is a practical learning experience in a
supervised professional environment outside the classroom offered to
junior and senior Telecommunications majors and minors. This
internship opportunity must relate to one of the three emphasis
areas (Industry & Management, Media & Society or Design &
Junior or senior Standing, major or minor in
Telecommunications with a minimum of 12 credit hours completed in
the major, with at least 6 credit hours completed at the 300/400
level in the major. The student must be in good academic standing
with the university and Telecommunications (GPA 2.000 or above).
Advance approval of the department internship coordinator is
required for registration.

Print out the guidelines and contract. Candidates must submit an
official job description with the completed T497 contract to TV 240.
To be considered for academic credit, students must submit the
required contract and official job description PRIOR to beginning the
internship position. Permission of the Internship Coordinator is
required before registration.
To earn college credits this internship:
Students must register for this internship for college credit like
all other university courses. The fees for T497 are the same for any
other fee credit-bearing course. Fees are based on your residence
status (in-state or other) and the number of hours for which you are
enrolled. In the spring and fall semesters, the fee will depend on
whether you are paying per credit hour (for under 12 hours or over
17 hours) or are in the flat fee structure (12-17 hours).
This course requires journal submissions (twice during internship),
a 4-5 page critical analysis paper and
an evaluation of an internship/field project by an industry sponsor.
T497 may be repeated for a total of 3 credit hours, with permission.
