(3 credit hours) section #13889
Instructor: Susan Lepselter

The capstone course in the major. Early readings and discussions will
develop multiple perspectives on a single theme, which this semester
will be captivity narratives. In the first weeks of the semester, we
will engage this theme to consider the motives for and critical
problems associated with interdisciplinary study. Throughout the
semester, students will develop a senior project, which may take the
form of a traditional senior thesis or of a substantial video essay,
website, multimedia project, performance piece, installation, etc.
Students pursuing fictional projects must complement their work with
considerable critical reflection on its purpose, stakes, design, and
limits.
