Biology | Virology Lecture

This upper level course will highlight conserved mechanisms utilized
by viruses to enter cells, replicate their genomes and produce
progeny. The molecular basis of how viruses accomplish each of these
steps will be discussed using representative examples and
interesting exceptions. Mechanisms by which host responses and viral
countermeasures influence the outcome of viral infection and
strategies to prevent and treat virus infection using vaccines and
antivirals will also be addressed.
