Biology | Current Topics in Antibiotic Resistance
Z620 | 31537 | Bush, K
The emphasis in the course will be an in-depth examination of
current literature regarding antibiotic resistance, especially
related to multidrug resistance in Gram-negative bacteria.
Background information will be discussed briefly about the different
classes of antibiotics. Molecular biology, epidemiology and
resistance mechanisms will be covered, focusing on the pathogenic
bacteria that are currently untreatable by most, if not all,
antibiotics. A background in microbiology, molecular biology, and
biochemistry are advisable.
