Above class meets with LTAM-L526

In this seminar we will take up the dual problems of nationalism and
national identity. We will begin with five weeks devoted to reading
about some influential theoretical and historical approaches to
nationalism and national identity. The bulk of the semester will be
devoted to the student production of research papers on some topic
related to nationalism or national identity. We will meet as a group
periodically during this period to consider research projects,
sources, and draft papers, but students will meet more frequently
with the professor to discuss their progress and problems. The goal
is the production of a paper that can eventually be worked into an
article for publication in a scholarly journal.
