Permission only. Limited to Journalism majors, application due Oct. 1. Ernie Pyle, America's
most famous war correspondent, has become the unofficial patron saint of journalists. He
has become an icon whose works constitute for many people the meaning and memory of
World War II. This course will examine the environment from which he came, his training and
stateside career, and his wartime work. It will include an overseas component that will take
students from London to Paris via Normandy during spring break.
