This course will introduce students to Middle Egyptian, the language
of Egypt as spoken and written during the Middle Kingdom (about 2000 –
1700 BCE). Students will learn basic grammar, acquire a vocabulary of
about 350 words, and learn the basics of the hieroglyphic script.
