Lecture and laboratory instruction in the finishing of ophthalmic
lenses, including lens selection, decentration, orientation, and
mounting. Related lens topics such as lens safety requirements and
absorptive lens characteristics are also included. Students must
demonstrate the ability to produce a spectacle lens prescription that
is both visibly pleasing and optically sound.
