Many key political outcomes are determined through political
campaigning. In turn, the success of a political campaign depends on
the campaign's power to persuade ordinary individuals. In this course
we will analyze and learn about the power of persuasion in political
settings. We will do so by analyzing campaign techniques and secrets.
This course will focus around four key questions: (1) What is the goal
of a political campaign? (2) Why are some campaigns more successful
than others? (3) What are some key techniques for persuasion? (4) How
can we put the psychology of persuasion into practice to produce real
political outcomes?
