Selected Topics in IR
This course will examine a number of topics that are not necessarily
central to international relations per se but may appeal to people
for whom international relations is not their main interest.
Students whose main interest lies in comparative politics is the
primary target. Accordingly, the topics selected include terrorism,
regional subsystems, grand strategy, war and state-making, and
interstate rivalry. Students will be expected to write a seminar
paper on one or more of the five foci.
