This course is designed to introduce students to the experimental
techniques involved in studying the behavioral aspects of human
perception, with an emphasis placed upon the study of human vision.
The aim of the course will be to involve students all of the steps
that typically take place when conducting psychophysical
experiments. This will include an in-depth literature review,
experimental design, experimental programming using MATLAB, data
collection, data analysis and a final written laboratory report.
Evaluation is based upon quizzes, programming assignments, a final
experimental programming project and a final laboratory report. P329
is a prerequisite for taking this course. Previous experience in
computer programming is recommended but not required.
