In this class, we will conduct a study on early cognition. Students
will learn the beginning to the end of the research, from hypothesis
formation to writing of the experimental report. Students will be
trained in the ethics and practical matters of testing children, and
under the supervision of the instructor for this course, each
student will test at least two children. This testing must take
place OUTSIDE of class time in the Cognitive Development
laboratory. Appointments will be made for students to test children
at times that fit the studentsí schedule and that are convenient to
the parents and children participating in the study. In addition,
students will read original literatures on infant/child/adults
cognition, analyze the data from the class project, interpret the
results, and write an APA style paper.
