This course will survey the paintings, sculpture, graphic arts, and architecture from the
thirteenth through the twentieth  centuries in a slide lecture format each Tuesday and Thursday,
from 11:15 to 12:05.  In addition, each student will be part of a weekly discussion group,
reviewing and discussing key works, artists, architects, terms, ideas and issues.  Throughout the
semester, scheduled visits to the Indiana University Art Museum will supplement the students
studies with in-gallery presentations and written exercises focusing on art in the original.
