Introductory Uzbek II
About the
Instructor
This course continues an introduction to the literary language of the Republic of Uzbekistan also
spoken elsewhere in Soviet Central Asia and Afghanistan. The course will cover pronunciation,
grammar, syntax, reading, and writing. It will also utilize articles relating to the culture and daily
life of the Uzbeks.
Prerequisite: U171 or one semester of any Turkic language.
Exams: Bi-weekly quizzes, two examinations, and a final exam form the basis of the grade
together with class performance.
