Course description:  Physiological and molecular mechanisms controlling
plant growth and development.  The course will emphasize the mechanisms by
which hormones, light, and other factors alter gene activity and cellular
physiology.

Required text:  None

Weekly assignments:  Assigned reading from handouts and primary literature
(an average of one reading assignment per week).

Exams/papers:  Three exams and a comprehensive final.  Exams will consist
of short answer and essay questions.  Short written summaries and critiques
of two primary research articles.
