Course Format:	Lecture: 9:30A-10:45A, TR, JH 124 and one discussion group
(50 minutes) per week.

Requirements:	High school biology.  This course is for biological and
other science majors.

Course description:	This course will focus on biological processes
above the cellular level.  Broad topics we will cover include evolutionary
mechanisms, ecology, and the diversity of life.  Specifically, we will
discuss how an organism's form fits its function.  Furthermore, we will
explore how forms and functions adapt to fill unutilized "space" in a
habitat.  Finally, we will consider how organisms interact with each other
and with their environment.

Required Text:	"Biology," by Campbell.  Fourth edition.

Weekly Assignments:	40-60 pages of text and one discussion group
worksheet per week.

Exams/Papers:	Your achievement on discussion group worksheets
(20%),one-hour multiple-choice exams (3 @ 20% each), and a final exam (20%)
will determine your grade for this course.
