Course format:  Lecture: 9:05A-9:55A, MWF, JH A100.  In addition to
lecture, students must attend a one hour discussion each week (times to be
arranged).

Course description:  Principles underlying the heritability of traits will
be covered prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms (i.e. bacteria, plants,
animals).  The dynamics of genes in individuals and populations, as well as
environmental influences upon these, will be addressed.  Further
understanding of these issues will be drawn from the study of model
developmental systems, their contributions to human disease, genetic
diseases in humans and genome projects.

Exams/papers:  Three exams plus a comprehensive final.
