Course format:  Seminar (ARR).

Requirements:  Graduate students only or consent of instructor.

Course description:  Topic:  Speciation.  The purpose of this seminar is to
review and discuss species concepts and theories of speciation, as well as
recent genetic, ecological, and phylogenetic studies that suggest new
generalization about speciation.  The seminar will employ a friendly,
informal discussion format.

Required text:  Reading assignments will be from the primary literature.

Weekly Assignments:  Students will be asked to read two papers from the
primary literature each week.

Exams/papers:  Students will be asked to write an essay on some aspect of
speciation.
