Western Literary and Intellectual Traditions to 1500 Prof. Leach TR 1:00-2:15 BH 018 The course will examine a series of substantial narrative texts from Homer to Chaucer, the majority of which involve journeys. Emphasis will be on social encounters, representing societies, formation of identities, but literary interrelationships among the texts will also be considered.
