This course introduces students to the study of diverse aspects of weather
and climate and to the interrelated fields of meteorology and climatology.
The emphasis is on the processes giving rise to weather patterns and
geographical variations in climate.  Topics include energy exchanges,
atmospheric motion, sever weather phenomena such as tornadoes and
hurricanes, and long-term climatic change.

This course is presented in a lecture/laboratory format.  Grading is based
on lecture and lab tests, laboratory exercises and a weather report.  G109
fulfills the NMNS distribution requirement.
