Guided research requiring a reading knowledge of Russian and/or other
European languages.  The course will include an introductory section on
sources, historical methods, and project design.  Projects encompassing
the period 1801- 1917 welcome; anything beyond that will require
sponsorship by another faculty member within the field committee.
