CLASS MEETING:
The class meets one 50 minute period two times a week for exercise and
activity. The exercise
sessions are self-designed according to proper principles of exercise
physiology. Once a week the
class meets for a lecture/discussion. Several self-evaluation and
introspection assignments are
given throughout the course. There is also a Lab for a 50 minute period two
times a week that
you must enroll in.
ATTENDANCE:
Students are allowed a maximum of three (3) absences. Upon a fourth absence
the student has
three (3) options.
1. receive a grade of F;
2. officially withdraw from the course;
3. follow an appeal procedure through your instructor and/or the Elective
Program Coordinator.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Designed to help students realize the importance of healthy diet and
exercise behaviors in
permanent weight control. Behavior modification techniques are used to help
students achieve a
healthy lifestyle that will result in either a gradual reduction in body
weight, and/or the
maintenance of a health body weight.

GRADING POLICY:
This class is taken only as S/F. You must score above 70% on the quizzes,
turn in weekly
Non-Diet Diet score sheets, turn in all assignments, and participate in
testing sessions to receive a
Satisfactory grade. Only three (3) unexcused absences are allowed!
