This course focuses on current stories with extensive coverage in the
media.  Students will examine how the media are covering or have covered
these stories and various issues related to the coverage.  Examples of
these issues include privacy, ethics of the press, First Amendment, public
perception of the press coverage, different types of media (on-line,
broadcast, newspaper) and how that may affect the perspective or approach
to the story.  This course will meet the second eight weeks of fall
semester.  Journalism majors should not take this course.  They will not
receive credit for C201.  The course is designed for any student not
majoring in journalism - freshman through senior.
