Journalism | Media & Society Seminar
J510 | 6394 | Nord

In this course we will study some of the more interesting theories and
research in the field of mass communication, especially as it applies to
journalism. We will begin with some of the seminal "effects" studies in
the field and then go on to explore several theoretical perspectives on
"causes" of media content. Although we will be mainly studying the
interaction between news and politics, the concepts and theories are
applicable in a number of contexts.
