Prerequisites: THTR T220 and recommendation of T220 instructor.

Major emphasis is on the use of language on the stage, concentrating on the plays of Shakespeare and including work in and study of comedy, history, and tragedy. Scene work will be selected from the following plays:

Scene One - Comedy:

The Taming of the Shrew; A Midsummer Night's Dream; The Merchant of Venice; Twelfth Night

Scene Two - History:

Richard II; Henry IV, Part One; Henry V; Richard III

Scene Three - Tragedy:

Julius Caesar; Romeo and Juliet; Hamlet; Othello; King Lear; Macbeth
