Explores the linguistic and cognitive dimensions of language as they
relate to the teaching of reading.  Discusses relationships among the
systems of language and among the various expressions of language.
Always includes topics on pragmatic semantics, grammar, and dialect.
This course taught once per year, usually in the fall some summers.
