Psychology | Statistical Techniques
K300 | 0528 | S. Thompson

This course is an introduction to statistical analyses, particularly
as employed in the social sciences, to include measures of central
tendency and dispersion, probability, hypothesis testing, statistical
inference, analysis of variance, correlation, and regression. The
course will be taught primarily in a lecture format, although it will
also involve class discussion. Questions will frequently be presented
to the class in order to encourage analytic thinking on the part of
the students, since the emphasis will be on understanding rather than
rote memorization. While lectures and discussions will emphasize the
theoretical and conceptual aspect of statistics, this course is also
about doing. In other words, part of the course will be devoted to
the computational aspects of statistics.
