Course Format: Daily lectures: 8:55 AM-10:10 AM,JH A100 plus two (50
minute) learning group meetings per week.

Requirements:  P: Biol L211 or S211.

Course Description: Analysis of genetic and developmental processes
that lead to the construction of whole organisms, and to the
transmission to their offspring of specific genetic traits.  Includes
principles of genetics, mutagenesis, chromosomal abnormalities,
molecular genetics, and analysis of mutations affecting development.

Required Text:  Griffiths, A.J.F., Miller, J.H., Suzuki, D.T.,
Lewontin, R.C,, and Gelbart, W.M., (2000)  An Introduction to Genetic
Analysis, Seventh Edition.  W.H. Freeman. New York.

Exams/Papers:  Three exams (given in the evenings during a two-hour
time period on Tuesday, May 21st 7-9 pm;  Wednesday, May 29th, 7-9 pm;
Thursday, June 6th, 7-9 pm) plus a comprehensive final exam (Thursday,
June 13th, 7-9 pm). Two worksheets per week.
