	This course will provide an introduction and overview of the
criminal justice system, including an examination of police, courts,
and corrections.  The goal of the course is to provide students with
a general understanding of how the criminal justice system operates,
and how external and internal forces influence this operation.  The
course will also highlight recurring themes that emerge throughout
the system, such as discretion, criminal justice in theory and in
practice, and common misconceptions and myths about the system.  The
course will also provide students with the opportunity to explore,
discuss, and critically analyze contemporary criminal justice issues.
