Criminal Justice-COAS | Unequal Justice
P493 | 0183 | Oliver
This course examines critical issues related to some of the adverse
ways in which the criminal justice system affects African Americans.
Readings and class discussion will focus on “Driving While Black,”
police brutality, and the disproportionate rates of incarceration
among African Americans. A major portion of students’ involvement in
the course will involve the development of a 10-page position paper
that addresses specific strategies to reduce the occurrence of
unequal justice in the administration of justice in the United States.
