Prerequisites: P101 or P151 and P102 or P152, or P106
This course is intended to provide an overview of the scientific study
of abnormal behavior. The course will utilize a biopsychosocial
approach to understand the causes, effects, and treatments for "mental
illnesses." The course will cover the following broad topics:
descriptive, theoretical, and experimental psychopathology; the
biological, psychological, and sociological causes of mental illness;
clinical types of behavior disorders; and a survey of
psychodiagnostics and psychotherapy.
