This three credit class will meet daily.  The professor will address the
basics in socio-cultural anthropological studies of human cultures and
their differences among various global cultures.  The course will
challenge students through a wide variety of media; such as films,
readings (books, journals, articles, and newspapers), discussions, videos,
personal presentations and so forth.  In the midst of the explorations,
students will reflect on their own cultures and societies.  At the end of
the summer session, the students will further become familiar with the
ways information are obtained and how social and cultural anthropologists
work in various communities.

Two books will be used which covers various world cultures, societies and
topics.  Each student will take two exams (mid-term & final); write a
ten-page research paper; and do four short assignments.
